Pakistani rice exports to Saudi Arabia have witnessed a 25% rise in 2024, reaching a record $4 billion. The quality of Pakistani rice has garnered widespread appreciation among Saudi consumers, strengthening its foothold in the market.
Exporters are optimistic about achieving $4.5 billion in rice exports by 2025, with strategic efforts underway to enhance Pakistan’s position in Saudi Arabia. The Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistani Business Council commended the premium quality of Pakistani rice, highlighting its growing reputation.
Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has played a key role in achieving this historic milestone. SIFC official Shahjehan Malik revealed that the target for rice exports in the next fiscal year has been set at $5 billion. He emphasized the importance of developing modern seeds and promoting standardized agricultural practices to sustain growth.
Malik also noted that Pakistan’s Basmati rice remains pivotal in global trade partnerships due to its superior quality. In 2024, Pakistan exported over 6 million tons of various rice varieties, further solidifying its position in the international market.
