Pakistan Cricket Board Issues Show-Cause Notice To Naseem Shah
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for allegedly violating his central contract terms. The notice was issued under the Board’s disciplinary framework, instructing Shah to submit his response within the stipulated time.
Further action will be decided after reviewing his reply, with professional standards, adherence to contracts, and the integrity of the game being upheld at all times. Sources indicated that if proven, Naseem Shah’s central contract could be at risk.
The controversy arose from a post on X (Twitter) where Shah questioned Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s treatment during her visit to the Gaddafi Stadium for PSL 11 opening ceremony. The post was later deleted after claiming his account had been hacked and recovered.
PCB officials emphasized that all players are expected to maintain professional conduct on and off the field, including social media platforms.
