The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to take disciplinary action against national fast bowler Shaheen Afridi for alleged misconduct. Sources indicate Afridi may be excluded from the upcoming crucial series against Bangladesh.
The PCB is also considering similar actions against two to three other players.
This decision follows Pakistan’s disappointing performance at the T20 World Cup, prompting widespread upheaval within the team. During meetings with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, coaches accused Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq of favoritism, alleging that favored players underperformed.
Afridi’s poor behavior towards the team management and coaches during the World Cup was highlighted, with an investigation underway to determine why no action was previously taken. Reports suggest factions and unprofessional behavior among certain players within the team.
While Afridi has remained silent, Wahab Riaz responded on X, denying the allegations and questioning the influence of one vote among the six-member selection committee.
