Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) announced the date for upcoming Legislative Assembly elections. He stated that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is expected to win these elections.

Rathore emphasized the need for all parties to participate in the election process, given the current unstable state within AJK. Dialogue was deemed crucial for resolving problems, and both federal and Azad Kashmir governments had previously engaged in lengthy negotiations with the Action Committee.

The Prime Minister highlighted the region’s significant status and its sensitivity, noting that ‘Our enemy takes advantage of the chaos in this region’. He also suggested a possible alliance between the PPP and other parties in the elections, with the final decision on alliances to be made after ticket distribution.
