Police have uncovered a theft of subsidized flour under a Punjab government scheme. In Rawalpindi’s Dhamial Police Station area, the flour was repackaged into different brand bags and sold at higher prices. During a raid, police arrested five individuals and recovered substantial quantities of flour and sewing machines used for stitching bags.

A case has been registered against six accused, including the owner. Authorities received information that subsidized government flour was being stolen from Ismail’s house in Mohra Chhappar. There, it was filled into various brand bags before being sold to shopkeepers at inflated rates.

During the raid, five accused were found filling government-subsidized flour into different brand bags. Police seized 150 empty government flour bags, 100 white bags containing 10-kg flour, 350 bags of 20-kg flour, two sewing machines and thread spools from the site.

The accused, including Ismail, are alleged to have deceived both the Punjab government and public by stealing subsidized flour and selling it in private packaging. A case has been registered for theft, fraud, and deception. Further investigation is underway with expectations of more revelations.
