PPP Labour Bureau President Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad called for immediate worker registration with NADRA and demanded bank payments of salaries. This was stated during a Lahore seminar organized by the PPP, where he criticized privatisation as “open plunder” and vowed continued resistance from labor groups.

The event also featured speeches from PPP Lahore General Secretary Dr Ayesha Shaukat, Organising Committee Convener Majeed Ghauri, PPP Lahore President Nargis Khan, and Mazdoor Forum PPP Lahore President Mah Gul Abbas. Ahmad expressed concern over the agriculture sector’s weakening to create cheap labor, noting only 2.2 million workers in Punjab were registered under Social Security despite a larger workforce.

He paid tribute to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, recalling reforms aimed at empowering workers and expanding rights for informal sector workers.
