Ex-Prince Andrew’s alleged power abuse for over 40 years exposed

The author of “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” discussed this in an interview with i Paper.

Lownie stated that the Yorks’ misuse of their royal position is not new, having been ongoing for decades. He cited instances such as Ferguson selling access to Andrew as trade envoy in 2010, and a 2022 High Court case revealing a £1.3m payment from a Turkish millionaire which was never explained.

The Epstein revelations, with their detailed accounts of the couple’s behavior, along with broader calls for royal accountability, forced King Charles to act last October, according to Lownie.

However, he believes this action has been too little and too late. He argues that the scandal should be used to ensure transparency in Britain’s most protected institution and that the monarchy is fit for purpose in a 21st century democracy. The relationship between the Crown and the people depends on trust and respect, which have been broken by the Yorks’ behavior,” Lownie concluded.
