Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in Melbourne for a four-day tour to Australia.
The Mirror reported the Duke and Duchess’s trip is receiving little public response. The couple landed early Tuesday after flying from Los Angeles, escorted through a private exit before heading to engagements focused on veterans, children’s welfare, mental health, and sport across Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. Their itinerary did not include public walkabouts due to security concerns and logistical costs.
BBC interviewed residents in Sydney who were unexcited about the royals’ visit. One person said, “They need to step up and do more for the general public and finish this ongoing feud with their family.” Another resident was unaware of their arrival until being asked by BBC. A third person stated they are not a favorite among the public, considering them self-promoters.
