Prince Harry Visited Ukraine Unannounced
Prince Harry, the younger son of Britain’s King Charles, made an unannounced visit to Ukraine on Thursday. He expressed support for the country, stating it is “bravely and successfully defending Europe’s eastern flank.”
At the Kyiv Security Forum, Harry contrasted European support with U.S. involvement in Ukraine’s conflict. He noted that when Ukraine relinquished its nuclear weapons, America was part of an assurance to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders.
Harry emphasized the need for American leadership and adherence to international treaty obligations. Europe has been crucial in supporting Ukraine, but more is needed urgently.
The prince described the war as a battle between liberal democracies and authoritarian foes. He highlighted the forcible deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia, emphasizing the stark contrast in respect for international law and human life between Ukraine and its adversaries.
