PTI lawmaker Iqbal Afridi has been suspended from the National Assembly budget session due to alleged misconduct with parliamentary staff and security personnel. The suspension motion, moved by PML-N lawmaker Farah Naz Akbar, was approved by a majority vote in the House.
Following the decision, Afridi’s membership is now suspended for the current session. Security officials have been directed to remove him from the Parliament building. The Speaker stated that Afridi had physically confronted staff and behaved inappropriately with the Director General Media and police officials. He termed such conduct unacceptable and emphasized the need for disciplinary action to maintain dignity and order in the Parliament.
