Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered authorities to submit weekly reports on the Punjab Development Programme. The directive came during a special meeting where officials presented updates from each tehsil and live dashboard data on financial and physical progress.
The chief minister emphasized regular updates from the Local Government Department, particularly regarding development work in every city. Weekly progress reports are also required for the “Model Villages” initiative.
Officials reported that 51 cities are currently under development through the Local Government and Community Development Department. The government plans to provide de-silting machines, section machines, jetting machines, and dewatering sets to improve sanitation and drainage systems.
Maryam Nawaz stressed cleanliness standards, instructing waste containers and garbage drums to be regularly cleaned. A significant announcement was made regarding the installation of the province’s first HDPE pipeline manufacturing plant, set to begin on April 20. Additionally, a similar facility will be established in South Punjab, with a focus on enhancing city aesthetics post-WASA project completion.
