Punjab Police Implements Biometric System
The Punjab Police in Lahore has introduced a biometric system across all police stations. This initiative, in collaboration with National Database and Registration Authority, mandates biometric verification for all complaints and accused persons.
Authorities have directed that the biometric module be activated in the Police Station Record Management System. All police stations are instructed to make biometric devices available within seven days, and officers must inspect device stocks immediately.
Additionally, the attendance of police personnel will also be recorded through this system. The aim is to streamline identity verification for both suspects and citizens and enhance transparency. Authorities have directed a compliance report submission within seven days to ensure timely implementation across the province.
