Punjab Introduces Digital Registration System for Security Firms
The Punjab Home Department has launched a digital registration system for security firms and guards across the province, aiming to improve oversight and transparency.
Officials say the new system will be integrated with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, allowing for centralized monitoring. All security companies are required to complete their registration through a dedicated safety application.
Under this system, detailed profiles of security guards—including qualifications, personal data, and verification records—will be maintained in a central database. The Punjab Police will also upload criminal records of guards onto the same platform.
The initiative is designed to modernize the province’s security framework and enhance monitoring mechanisms. Authorities believe that digital integration will improve transparency and help ensure better law enforcement coordination.
Strict action will be taken against unregistered security companies and guards, and data sharing with the Safe Cities Authority has been made mandatory for all stakeholders.
