Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast rain, strong winds, and hailstorms across most districts from Tuesday through June 5. The spokesperson stated that these conditions are expected in several key areas including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Khushab, and Mandi Bahauddin.
PDMA Director General Umar Javed issued alerts to commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province for emergency preparedness under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s instructions. Citizens were advised to stay indoors during lightning and avoid open areas or trees during thunderstorms. Farmers were urged to take precautionary measures, while tourists were warned about potential travel risks in northern regions. The PDMA also directed citizens to contact their helpline at 1129 for any emergencies.
