Punjab University Bans PhD Research on Renowned Personalities

University of the Punjab Announces New PhD Research Policy

The University of the Punjab’s Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) approved a new policy on Thursday. This policy prohibits PhD research on living renowned or eminent personalities.

However, individuals who have received government civil awards are exempt from this restriction. For those wishing to conduct research on civil award recipients, special permission is required.

This permission must be granted by both the ASRB and the Departmental Doctoral Program Committee (DDPC). The university has formally notified all departments about this policy change. Deans and heads of departments have been instructed to implement these new rules immediately.
