The Punjab Wildlife Department has rescued a rare eagle valued at $36,000 during an operation in Taunsa, acting on a tip from locals.
Officials arrested the suspects involved in the bird’s trafficking, suspecting them to be part of a larger smuggling network targeting rare species.
The eagle, found in good health, will be released back into its natural habitat after being fitted with a tracker to monitor its movements.
