The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signaled its intent to broaden its engagement in Pakistan’s power generation and housing sectors, a press statement revealed today.
Led by Khalifa bin Jassem Al-Kuwari, the Chief Executive Officer of QFFD, a delegation from the organization is currently on a two-day visit to Pakistan from March 23 to 24, 2024.
During their visit, the delegation, accompanied by the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, convened with Ahad Khan Cheema, the Minister for Economic Affairs, at the Prime Minister’s House.
Minister Cheema extended a warm welcome to the CEO of QFFD and expressed gratitude for Qatar’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s development, highlighting the enduring bilateral relationship.
Acknowledging Qatar’s substantial contribution of $25 million towards international support during the 2022 floods, Minister Cheema emphasized the government’s commitment to bolstering cooperation, particularly in advancing water sector projects.
