Qayyum Wins Peshawar Inter-Club Weightlifting Championship

Peshawar Inter-Club Weightlifting Championship Concludes

The three-day Peshawar Inter-Club Weightlifting Championship concluded at Qayyum Sports Complex on Friday. The overall champion was the Qayyum Sports Complex Weightlifting Club, which had a strong performance across all categories.

Legends Weightlifting Club secured second place in the team standings, while Pak Weightlifting Club claimed third spot. Khanullah was named Best Weightlifter of the tournament.

The event, organized by the Regional Sports Office Peshawar at the Peshawar Sports Complex, saw more than 40 weightlifters from six clubs of the Peshawar region compete over three days.

At the closing ceremony, Secretary General of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association, Zulfiqar Ali Butt, and Regional Sports Officer Kashif Farhan served as chief guests. They distributed medals and prizes among successful athletes, accompanied by President of the Khyber-Pakhtunkha Weightlifting Association, Sheraz Muhammad, and Amjad Khan.

Results: In 55kg category, Azan won gold, Ankit took silver, Muaz claimed bronze. Aqib secured first position in 65kg category, Zubeir finished second, Osman third. Moez won gold in 73kg category, Wajahat silver, Sami bronze. Taha stood first in 81kg category. Samad and Abu Bakr took second and third positions respectively. Zubeir clinched gold in 89kg category, Rahim silver, Yusuf bronze. Farhan secured first place in 89kg+ category, Walid second, Musa third.

The successful conclusion of the championship is expected to boost weightlifting activities in the Peshawar region.
