The fifth annual Protein Day, slated for February 27, 2024, is set to be marked with the theme “Solve With Protein,” as announced by ‘Right To Protein,’ a dedicated awareness initiative powered by the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC).
Karachi, Pakistan, and the broader South Asia region have been confronted with successive challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and economic instability.
Amidst these difficulties, the unwavering resilience of individuals and organizations dedicated to supporting those in need has shone through. ‘Right To Protein’ has been at the forefront of recognizing and supporting these efforts through initiatives like the KHI Awards, with 74 organizations positively impacting over 17 million lives thus far.
The theme “Solve With Protein” for Protein Day 2024 aims to emphasize the pivotal role of protein in fostering a healthier and more resilient population. It calls upon brands, thought leaders, community influencers, media, and citizens to amplify the message on the importance of protein consumption and its benefits for overall health and well-being. Additionally, the theme seeks to drive conversations and highlight solutions to ensure accessible protein-rich foods for citizens, thereby contributing to the realization of ‘nutrition security.’
Fareeha Talha, CEO of Fartal Pharmaceuticals and Vice President of the World Poultry Science Association, expressed the importance of recognizing protein as a fundamental macronutrient to address various health challenges and contribute to the well-being of Pakistan. She emphasized the need for collective efforts to increase awareness about nutrition and food security.
Deeba Giannoulis, Regional Head of U.S. Soy Marketing & Sustainability – South Asia & Sub-Saharan Africa (SAASSA) at U.S. Soybean Export Council, reaffirmed the commitment to meeting the growing demand for nutrition worldwide. She highlighted the importance of individual and collective action in fostering a healthier, protein-conscious society.
Right To Protein encourages individuals to join in celebrating Protein Day on February 27, 2024, and to challenge nutritional gaps in everyday lives with awareness and the aim to “Solve With Protein.”
