In Los Angeles, authorities recently confirmed Robert Carradine’s death as a tragic suicide. The 71-year-old, best known for his role in “Lizzie McGuire,” passed away after suffering from anoxic brain injury caused by hanging. A sequelae of nearly two decades battling Bipolar Disorder led to this untimely end.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report outlined Carradine’s cause of death: a blockage of oxygen supply to the brain, likely due to his self-inflicted actions that evening. He left behind a legacy as both an esteemed actor and a beacon of light in the face of adversity.

Carradine’s family announced his passing via TMZ on February 27th with heartfelt condolences for their community. “It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away,” they stated. In a statement acknowledging the darkness of life’s moments, the family added: “In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon of light to everyone around him.”

They continued, “We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder. We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness.”

The family, however, asked for privacy during their time of mourning: “At this time we ask for the privacy to grieve this unfathomable loss,” they concluded. With gratitude for understanding and compassion from everyone.

Carradine’s death serves as a poignant reminder of both life’s resilience and the ongoing struggle with mental health issues that too often remain shrouded in secrecy.
