Saudi Arabia and UAE Declare April 10 as Eid-ul-Fitr

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announce Wednesday, April 10, as the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr 2024, as the Shawwal moon was not sighted on Monday evening.

The end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid-ul-Fitr are marked by the sighting of the Shawwal moon.

Both countries began Ramadan on Monday, March 11, and the Saudi Supreme Court urged residents to report moon sightings on Monday. In Saudi Arabia, workers will enjoy a five-day break from April 9, including the weekend.
