Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, marks a remarkable achievement in 2023 by transporting over 30 million guests, a notable 21% surge from the previous year. The airline’s operational prowess is showcased by over 176.3 thousand flights, a 4% increase, and an impressive on-time performance of 86.44%, ranking among the top 10 globally.
Saudia’s strategic enhancements, focusing on increased seat capacity, flight frequency, and operational efficiency, contributed to these accomplishments. Notably, transit flights experienced a staggering 77% growth in 2023 compared to 2019.
Internationally, Saudia played a pivotal role in connecting the world to the Kingdom, transporting over 16.7 million passengers through its international flight network, a substantial 36% increase. The airline operated more than 79.4 thousand international flights, marking a 19% increase from the previous year.
Domestically, Saudia continued to serve the Kingdom by transporting over 13.5 million passengers, showcasing a 7% growth. With 96.9 thousand flights dedicated to domestic destinations, totaling 55% of all flights, Saudia accumulated 163 thousand flight hours.
Captain Ibrahim Koshy, CEO of Saudia Group, expressed pride in the airline’s growing performance metrics, attributing the success to optimal execution of year-round operational plans. He emphasized Saudia’s role in serving key sectors, including tourism, business, and pilgrimage.
