The State Bank of Pakistan has introduced revised working hours for all banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks during the holy month of Ramadan 2024, as stated in a recent announcement by the central bank.

Starting from Monday through Thursday, the working hours will be from 09:00 am to 03:30 pm, with a break for prayer scheduled from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

On Fridays, offices will operate from 08:30 am to 1:00 pm without any breaks, according to directives from the central bank.

For public dealings, banks are advised to observe working hours from 09:00 am to 02:00 pm without interruption from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:30 am to 1:00 pm without any breaks on Fridays.

The SBP emphasized that these adjusted timings are specific to the month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and will revert to pre-Ramadan hours once the month concludes.

In related news, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman, Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, has called for a meeting to sight the Ramadan crescent in Peshawar today (Monday). The committee will convene to determine the start of Ramadan for the Hijri year 1445.
