The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in observance of Kashmir Day, as per the government’s directive, the central bank announced in a statement.
All government offices, banks, and educational institutions will also be shut nationwide, following an official notification issued earlier.
The holiday is observed annually to express support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Public rallies, seminars, and human chains are planned in major cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, to mark the occasion.
