
Punjab extends Section 144 ban on drones
The enforcement of Section 144 has been extended across Punjab, with a continued ban on flying drones in open areas. The provincial government imposed the restriction due to security concerns.
Limited drone use allowed indoors
However, the notification clarified that limited use of small drones is permitted during indoor events held in halls and marquees. Event organizers will be responsible for ensuring the safe use of drones in such settings.
Exemptions for intelligence and law enforcement agencies
Intelligence and law enforcement agencies are exempt from the restriction. The Punjab Home Department emphasized that ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and protecting property remain the government’s top priorities.
