In a significant escalation of counter-terrorism efforts, Pakistani security forces have eliminated 10 terrorists during a follow-up operation in Zhob district. The military’s media wing announced this development on Thursday, underscoring their commitment to clearing out remnants of militant groups.
The operation took place following an earlier intelligence-based raid that neutralised eight fighters within the same area. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the latest action targeted militants believed to be associated with Fitna al-Khwarij. These individuals had been involved in various terrorist activities, including those sponsored by foreign entities.
During Wednesday’s operation, security forces tracked suspected militants across multiple routes and engaged them in a gun battle. In an ominous statement from ISPR, they described the outcome as fitting their mantra of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” which translates to “resolve through persistence.” Ten militants were eliminated during this confrontation, with weapons, ammunition, and explosives recovered from their dead bodies.
The military emphasized that sanitisation efforts continue in Zhob district to ensure all remaining terrorists are neutralized. The ongoing counter-terrorism campaign aligns with the Federal Apex Committee’s National Action Plan, signaling a firm commitment to dismantling foreign-sponsored terrorism across Pakistan.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain vigilant, continuing their operations to eliminate any residual threats. As part of this broader strategy, they aim to restore security in regions like Zhob district, where such acts of terror pose significant challenges.
