Security Official Sets Record Straight on Tirah Valley Military Operation Claims

A security official denied reports of a large-scale military operation in the Tirah region, stating only intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are being conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts. The briefing, held on Friday in Karachi, dismissed claims of a major offensive as “false and baseless propaganda.”

“The past three years have seen only IBOs against Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan,” the security official said, adding that these operations remain the most effective method for countering terrorism.

No major military operation is currently underway in Tirah; instead, intelligence-based operations are being carried out based on actionable inputs. The officials also denied any increase in troop deployments or establishment of new checkpoints. Current weather conditions do not allow for large-scale military action either.

The security official emphasized that the relationship between the armed forces and the public remains strong, despite some critics suggesting otherwise. They stated that no narrative could weaken this trust, as all decisions in tribal areas are made with the input from local elders and communities, considering their specific conditions and traditions.

In Balochistan, the security officials highlighted that Fitna al-Hindustan groups are enemies of public welfare and development, noting that the people there have recognized militants who use grievances to justify acts of terrorism. The officials reiterated their commitment to counterterrorism efforts while maintaining cooperation with local communities.
