Seven killed, eight injured in Gwadar car collision

A catastrophic collision left seven individuals dead and eight more seriously wounded on Friday night near Gwadar, Balochistan. The incident occurred when two vehicles collided along the Makran Coastal Highway, with one car heading towards Karachi from the port city of Gwadar hitting another vehicle parked on the roadside.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud crash as both cars were involved in the accident. Police and emergency teams arrived at the scene swiftly, directing ambulances to transport those injured to nearby hospitals. According to rescue personnel, seven people succumbed to their injuries while eight others remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Among the deceased are confirmed reports of women and children being among the victims. Authorities have stated that fatalities could potentially rise further due to some of the injured remaining in life-threatening states. The authorities have already filed a formal case with police investigators to determine the exact cause of this tragic incident, which has left significant damage on the Makran Coastal Highway.

The Gwadar area is known for its crucial role in Pakistan’s maritime and economic development, and this incident has underscored the vulnerability of transportation infrastructure in the region. Emergency services are currently working around the clock to ensure all necessary support reaches those affected by the tragedy.
