Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif honored Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian with an honorary fellowship from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) on Tuesday. The award recognized Pezeshkian’s distinguished contributions to medicine, particularly cardiac surgery.
The ceremony in Islamabad featured attendance by senior officials and dignitaries from both nations. Earlier that day, President Pezeshian arrived at Nur Khan Airbase for a state visit, receiving a 21-gun salute and flypast by Pakistan Air Force JF-17 jets.
Children greeted the Iranian president with bouquets and waved flags as he made his way to Prime Minister’s House. There, he was welcomed by PM Shehbaz and received a guard of honor from armed forces personnel. The event concluded with a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House in Pezeshkian’s honor, where both leaders exchanged warm remarks.
