Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in the United States to attend a critical meeting focused on resolving tensions in Gaza. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is accompanying him, alongside other high-ranking officials from Pakistan. The gathering will take place at a time when international leaders are convening for an urgent discussion aimed at easing the crisis gripping the Palestinian territories.
This historic assembly has been scheduled in Washington D.C., where President Trump is expected to preside over the meeting. Among those participating in the Board of Peace meeting, which could potentially be a pivotal moment in regional diplomacy, are more than 20 countries from around the globe.
While the primary focus is on addressing humanitarian challenges and political unrest in Gaza, there are significant expectations that substantial aid commitments will also be addressed at this conference. The United States has already signaled its intent to provide over $5 billion worth of assistance through the peace board.
Shehbaz Sharif’s visit comes as part of his diplomatic efforts aimed at fostering stability across the region. His presence underscores Pakistan’s commitment to supporting a peaceful resolution in Gaza and aligns with global aspirations for constructive dialogue on this pressing matter. The upcoming meeting is expected to set a new course toward achieving lasting peace in the area, reflecting both immediate relief needs and long-term strategic goals.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes meetings with US leadership as well as other world leaders who will participate in the Board of Peace meeting. These exchanges are crucial for consolidating international support and ensuring that efforts towards peace are sustained beyond this pivotal gathering.
