Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, has announced a generous initiative to cover the expenses of Hajj and Umrah for individuals aged above 75 years who have not yet performed the sacred pilgrimages. He made this announcement during a media interaction following his visit to the Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad (SGHL).

Tessori stated that eligible individuals should register themselves with the Governor House, and a selection process through balloting would determine those who will be sent to the holy mosques for Hajj and Umrah.

In addition to this initiative, the Governor of Sindh also pledged to support students whose parents are unable to afford the high costs of fees and books. He encouraged such parents to reach out for assistance through the helpline number 1366.

Expressing concern over the condition of healthcare facilities, Governor Tessori likened the emergency services at SGHL to those of other major hospitals in the city and emphasized the need for improvement. He affirmed his commitment to personally assess the state of healthcare institutions to ensure better services.

Furthermore, Tessori vowed to extend his visits beyond hospitals and into government schools and parks, accompanied by the media, to address inefficiencies and wrongdoings. He highlighted the role of media in exposing various issues and assured transparency in his efforts.

Regarding SGHL, Tessori lamented the lack of progress in upgrading the facility since its establishment in 1982, despite significant development in Karachi. He invited elderly individuals present at the event to discuss concerns over a cup of tea at the Governor’s House.

Additionally, he announced that individuals in need of ration bags could avail themselves of assistance by contacting the helpline number 1366.

During his visit to SGHL, Governor Tessori was briefed by the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ateeq-ur-Rehman Qureshi, about the hospital’s operations and inquired about the facilities provided to patients.
