Under the collaborative efforts of the Sindh government and the Karachi Water Corporation, a comprehensive plan to enhance water distribution through the introduction of a new canal from Hub Dam and revitalization of existing canals is set to be completed within the next 13 months.
This initiative aims to alleviate water shortages in districts including West, Central, Kemari, Liaquatabad, and others across Karachi. During a crucial meeting at the Secretariat, chaired by Mayor Karachi and Chairman of the Water Corporation, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, elected representatives from Baldia, Mominabad, Orangi, Maroora Meer, and Liaquatabad voiced concerns over various water supply issues in their respective areas.
They emphasized the urgent need for prioritized solutions. Mayor Karachi assured the representatives of immediate redressal of all grievances related to water supply and drainage, stressing that providing efficient water services throughout the city is a top priority. He underscored unity among all stakeholders, highlighting Karachi as our collective home and calling for concerted efforts to improve its infrastructure.
