Singer Sinitta opened up about her tumultuous past with Simon Cowell in a candid interview on the Suddenly Single podcast. Appearing 62 years old, Sinitta reflected on decades-long connections that had both heated flames and cooling embers.

She recalled first meeting Cowell at a London nightclub as a teenager in the early 1980s. Their romance persisted for over two decades before fading into a friendship. Throughout her relationship with Cowell, she found herself regularly appearing on his TV shows like Britain’s Got Talent.

Sinitta also shared that when she married Andy Willner in 2002, it was partly out of retaliation. Despite their marriage ending seven years later, Sinitta often engaged in “retaliation relationships,” as she described them, where her pride dictated her choices to show Cowell wasn’t the only choice available.

She explained, “I would date Brad Pitt or models just to showcase that I could move on from a potentially desperate state. But it was all intended to prove my independence and self-respect.”

Even after Willner’s departure in 2009, Sinitta’s feelings for Cowell persisted. Reflecting further, she said: “There was always this unfinished business. Even when we separated, I still had lingering emotions that wouldn’t dissipate.”

Interestingly, Sinitta remained close to Lauren Silverman, who has been Cowell’s fiancée and shares a son named Eric with the TV personality.

Sinitta’s candid sharing underscores her complex relationship dynamics and highlights how past connections can continue influencing current romantic choices. Despite their complicated history, she continues to find solace in supporting Silverman, perhaps offering comfort as well as a reminder of her own journey through these tumultuous relationships.
