tapmad unveiled its much-anticipated original series Shamsher with a star-studded and emotionally charged trailer launch event on May 28, 2025, at Pearl Continental Karachi’s Zaver Hall. The event was a dynamic celebration that brought together the worlds of entertainment and sport, weaving storytelling with national pride and cultural legacy.

Leading the evening were the show’s stars Farhan Saeed, Hareem Farooq, Behroze Sabzwari, and Umer Aalam, joined by producer Nina Kashif and director Shehrazade Sheikh. A special tribute was held to honor Pakistan’s hockey legends, including Qamar Ibrahim, Sameer Hussain, and current national team captain Amad Butt. The presence of these icons set the tone for a night dedicated to grit, glory, and inspiration.

The event featured a spirited panel discussion exploring the cultural impact of hockey in Pakistan and the stories that continue to shape national identity. It resonated with emotion, nostalgia, and the promise of revival, much like the series itself.

Farhan Saeed shared, “When the producer asked me the show was about hockey, it was an immediate yes and I hope that it revives hockey in Pakistan.”

Hareem Farooq added, “I didn’t know Pakistan had so many achievements in hockey. I am embarrassed that we never really got to know them until I took on this project.”

Producer Nina Kashif spoke about the vision behind the show: “With Shamsher, we wanted to tell a story that speaks to both emotion and legacy. It’s a celebration of our cultural depth, and we’re thrilled to bring it to audiences through tapmad.”

Representing tapmad Entertainment, the Deputy CEO, Zain Pasha, emphasized the platform’s mission: “At tapmad, our goal has always been to reimagine entertainment for Pakistani audiences through original, meaningful stories. Shamsher is a landmark moment for us, one that blends powerful narrative with national pride.”

The event was attended by top celebrities, media personalities, and industry leaders. The unveiling of the Shamsher trailer was met with enthusiastic applause, while the lively discussions sparked reflection and renewed interest in Pakistan’s sporting heritage. Social media buzzed throughout the night, with behind-the-scenes glimpses and red-carpet moments going viral.

Shamsher will officially premiere on tapmad on June 13, 2025, when it will be available for streaming.

With Shamsher, tapmad continues to break new ground in local entertainment, reaffirming its commitment to bold storytelling and authentic Pakistani narratives.
