The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced that it will remain closed on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. In a circular, the SBP stated, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on September 17, 2024 (Tuesday) due to a public holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi-ul-Awal, 1446 A.H).”

Commercial banks will also observe the public holiday. Additionally, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has confirmed that it will be closed on the same day. The federal government had declared September 17 a public holiday earlier this month.

Muslims worldwide celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal, known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
