Super Mario Galaxy Movie to Release Next Week

Critics’ Opinions Differ on New Nintendo Film

The latest offering from Nintendo, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, is set to hit theaters next week. Critics have already started sharing their opinions.

Compared to the first movie, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, reactions are mixed. Some critics consider it a stunning success. Others view it as an underwhelming attempt.

M.N. Miller of InSession Film calls it “a far superior sequel” to its predecessor. Katie Smith-Wong in Movie Maker praises the film for refining its balance between nostalgia and entertainment. Frank Scheck from The Hollywood Reporter notes that the movie is “more” of everything, including action, characters, and Easter eggs.

However, Wilson Chapman at IndieWire finds it a mind-numbing experience. Kristen Maldonado from Pop Culture Planet disagrees, stating it’s just fine but lacks the spark of the original film. Owen Gleiberman of Variety echoes this sentiment, calling it one of the worst animated films in years.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is now playing in theaters.
