The Citizens Foundation (TCF) conducted its 21st Annual Golf Tournament, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the prestigious Karachi Golf Club, Karsaz. This year’s tournament was not just an exciting sporting event; it was a chance for participants to make a lasting impact on the lives of less-privileged children across Pakistan.

This year’s tournament was centered around the critical need to bring children to school. With the number of out-of-school children in Pakistan reaching an alarming 26.2 million, TCF is committed to addressing the educational crisis and ensuring that every child has access to quality education. The funds raised from this tournament will support TCF to provide education for children in need.

For over two decades, TCF has been working tirelessly to provide quality education to the country’s less-privileged children. With a vast network of 2,033 school units across Pakistan, serving 301,000 students enroled, led by its dedicated team of 14,700 female faculty members, TCF is transforming lives by offering a bright future to children in marginalised communities. This would not be possible without the generous support of individuals, businesses, and corporate partners.

“Education is a fundamental right, and for Pakistan to move forward, every child must have the opportunity to learn,” said Mr. Mushtaq Chhapra, Co-Founder and Director of TCF. “Every year, our incredible community of golfers gathers not only to compete but also to create life-changing impact for children in need. Their generosity and support play a crucial role in bringing vulnerable children back into classrooms and reigniting their dreams.”

A special highlight of the event was the presence of Tabarak Rehman, who joined as a guest speaker. Tabarak, an avid supporter of education, shared his inspiring journey of running 1,600 kms across Pakistan to support 7,000 children, with the aim of raising over $1 million for education. His story served as a powerful reminder of the impact that dedication and perseverance can have on the lives of children in need.

In addition to the inspiring speeches, the competition highlighted the announcement of Dubai Islamic Bank as the winner.
