
Terrorists Target Government School in South Waziristan Lower
Unidentified terrorists detonated explosives at a government girls’ primary school in the Sara Ghora area of Barmal Tehsil, South Waziristan Lower. The blast reduced the entire building to rubble.
District Police Officer Muhammad Tahir Shah Wazir confirmed the incident and stated that a case has been registered. No group claimed responsibility, but evidence suggests it was an act of terrorism.
This is the third government educational institution targeted in recent months, according to local sources. Tribal elders and civil society have condemned the attack as detrimental to the region’s future, especially for girls’ education in remote areas.
Bannu District Faces Multiple Security Incidents
On Wednesday, Bannu district witnessed several security incidents that left residents concerned. Terrorists used a quadcopter to drop two locally made bombs at the Haved Police Station, injuring two FC personnel and damaging vehicles. The head teacher of the Government High School in Mandiu area was abducted by armed men.
A suspected drone attack injured a rickshaw driver on Tuesday evening, while mortar shells were fired at Bannu Cantonment without causing casualties. Retired FC man Ali Mar Khan was also abducted from Jani Khel.
