A routine afternoon at a Los Angeles supermarket took a sudden turn into chaos when a vehicle crashed through its storefront. At 12 PM on Thursday, a 99 Ranch Market in the Westwood neighborhood became the site of a tragic incident that left three people dead and several others fighting for their lives.
According to CBS News, the accident unfolded as the car struck the store’s front entrance shortly after noon. Aerial footage revealed shattered glass and debris scattered across the shop’s entrance while the vehicle was wedged amid aisles. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that three individuals died at the scene: Deris Renoj, a 42-year-old man, and two other men aged 55 and 30.
Six others were injured in the incident; two of them remain critically ill in hospitals while four suffered less severe injuries. Police confirmed that there were no passengers in the crashed vehicle, describing the event as an “accidental traffic collision.”
Authorities also noted a peculiar detail: The same driver who caused the crash had earlier struck a bicycle rider just over a block away. Both parties declined medical attention. Inspectors conducted a brief structural check of the supermarket to ensure its safety, and officials confirmed that the building remained stable despite the incident.
