TikTok has released its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the fourth quarter of 2023. The report underscores TikTok’s dedication to transparency, safety, and inclusivity, emphasizing its commitment to fostering trust and ensuring a secure platform for its global user base.

Throughout the October-December period of 2023, TikTok’s proactive measures resulted in the removal of 176,461,963 videos worldwide, accounting for approximately 1.0% of all content uploaded. A significant portion of these removals, totaling 128,300,584 videos, was identified and actioned through automated detection technologies, with 8,038,106 videos reinstated following further review.

In Pakistan, TikTok took action against 18,596,077 videos for violating its Community Guidelines in the fourth quarter, demonstrating its effectiveness in combating violations. The platform also pursued spam accounts vigorously, implementing robust measures to prevent the proliferation of automated spam activity.

Remarkably, about 95.3% of guideline-violating videos were removed within 24 hours of posting, and the global proactive removal rate stood at an impressive 99.5% for the quarter. As part of its efforts to protect younger users, TikTok deleted 19,848,855 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13 on a global scale.

TikTok’s Community Guidelines are designed to create a safe, inclusive, and authentic environment for all users, enforced consistently across content and users. Leveraging advanced technology and human oversight, TikTok efficiently identifies and addresses content that violates its guidelines, striving for fairness and consistency in its enforcement actions.

The regular publication of the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report provides valuable insights into content and account actions, underscoring TikTok’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
