Trump’s Gaza Plan Faces Funding Gaps Urging Faster Disbursement

The Board of Peace, established by President Trump to oversee his Gaza rebuilding plan, has issued a report urging urgent closure of the funding gap between pledges and disbursement.

Currently, only a small fraction of the $17 billion pledged for Gaza’s reconstruction has been disbursed. The board claims it is an “execution-focused organization” that calls capital as needed, denying any funding constraints.

The May 15 report to the UN Security Council emphasized the urgency in closing this gap between commitment and disbursement, highlighting the difference between a framework on paper and one delivering results for Gaza’s people.

Key pledges include $17 billion from various countries such as the US, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait. Despite these commitments, significant obstacles remain, including Israel’s continued troop presence in Gaza and Hamas’ refusal to relinquish weapons, hindering progress on Trump’s Gaza rebuilding plan.
