
Commander of Turkish Land Forces, General Metin Tokel, met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The visiting dignitary was greeted with a guard of honour by the Pakistan Army.
During the meeting, both sides discussed mutual professional interests, regional security dynamics, and opportunities to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation. Field Marshal highlighted the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and Turkey, as well as their enduring defence partnership.
General Tokel also visited Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, where he met Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, discussing professional matters and the evolving maritime security environment. He later called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, focusing on bilateral military cooperation and issues of interest.
General Tokel praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their contributions to regional peace and stability. He expressed his commitment to enhancing defence cooperation and strengthening institutional linkages between the two brotherly nations’ armed forces.
