
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, engaged in a bilateral meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi today. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, the Prime Minister conveyed condolences on the passing of close family members of the Al Nahyan family.
The meeting served as a platform to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, spanning political, economic, social, cultural, and defence sectors. Prime Minister underscored the significance of strengthening the existing cooperation and enhancing the strategic partnership, particularly in information technology, renewable energy, and tourism sectors.
Highlighting the government’s initiatives aimed at ensuring socio-economic stability and fostering investor confidence, Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to implementing investment cooperation agreements in areas such as energy, port operations, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, minerals, and banking & financial services.
President of the UAE, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, assured UAE’s unwavering support and pledged to invest $10 billion across multiple sectors in Pakistan. Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for hosting 1.8 million Pakistani diaspora and emphasized Pakistan’s abundant human resource potential for engagement in diverse sectors.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments, with Prime Minister extending an invitation to the UAE President for an official visit to Pakistan, which was accepted.
