
Ukrainian drones attacked Russia’s Primorsk port on Sunday, setting it temporarily ablaze. Local governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed this via Telegram app. Kyiv launched a series of strikes across the country.
Drozdenko reported that over 60 drones were downed overnight in Russia’s Leningrad region.
No oil spill occurred following the attack at Primorsk, a major oil exporter with capacity to handle 1 million barrels per day. The fire was extinguished.
Primorsk has been hit multiple times recently as Ukraine intensified attacks on Russian energy infrastructure and other targets amid stalled US-brokered peace talks.
Ukrainian forces also struck two shadow fleet tankers in waters at the entrance of Russia’s Novorossiysk port, said President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram. These tankers were used to transport oil but are no longer active.
Moscow regional governor Andrei Vorobyov reported a 77-year-old man died in a village following a drone strike. Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin confirmed four drones were downed en route to the capital.
Western Smolensk region’s governor Vasily Anokhin reported three people, including a child, injured when a drone attacked an apartment block. Meanwhile, Russian troops advanced towards Ukraine’s Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region.
