U.S. ARRESTS Adys Lastres Morera
The U.S. has arrested Adys Lastres Morera, sister of GAESA’s executive president, in a move that underscores the ongoing tensions between the two nations.
Morera, who entered the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident in 2023, is currently under the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pending removal proceedings.
According to ICE, Morera’s presence poses a threat to U.S. interests and undermines American foreign policy objectives.
GAESA, or Grupo de Administración Empresarial, has been shrouded in secrecy by Cuba’s leadership due to its dealings with the U.S.-imposed trade and financial blockade.
