US vows to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions ‘one way or the other’

In Paris, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright underscored President Donald Trump’s stance: “We cannot tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran,” he declared. This unequivocal declaration came during the International Energy Agency’s meetings where Wright also highlighted that Iran had made it clear what they intended to do with any nuclear weapons.

“Iran’s actions have been entirely unacceptable, and we are committed to deterring their move towards nuclear capability in whatever manner necessary,” Wright remarked. These statements were delivered alongside ongoing discussions between US officials and those from Tehran in Geneva aimed at preventing the outbreak of conflict over Iran’s nuclear program.

Tehran announced that they had agreed on “guiding principles” for a deal to avert military intervention, according to their own stance following Tuesday’s talks. However, US Vice President JD Vance suggested that while Tehran has acknowledged some points, there remains disagreement over all red lines set by Washington, indicating a significant rift in negotiations yet unresolved.

This diplomatic stalemate underscores the critical nature of the discussions and sets the stage for potential escalation or compromise in resolving one of the most pressing issues in global geopolitics.
