The Universal Service Fund’s (USF) connectivity projects have been credited with substantially reducing poaching incidents in Pakistan. This revelation was made by MNA Sardar Nabeel Ahmed Gabol during a meeting with USF CEO Chaudhry Mudassar Naveed.

According to Gabol, the USF has launched 93 projects in under-served and un-served areas over the past five years, with subsidies exceeding PKR 8.84 billion. These initiatives have included the laying of over 10,000 km of optical fiber cable and the installation of 2,915 mobile towers.

The deployment of renewable solar energy, alongside voice and data services, has greatly improved local and international market connections, providing a boost to local businesses and transport. This enhanced connectivity has had a positive impact on the environment, contributing to a reduction in poaching incidents.

Gabol praised the USF’s efforts, noting that their projects have made a tangible impact on the lives of people in these areas. The USF’s connectivity projects have proven to be a game-changer in reducing poaching incidents in Pakistan, and their impact is expected to be felt for years to come.
