Uzbekistan Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev met with Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad. Zardari emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade through diversification, improved market access, and early operationalization of trade facilitation mechanisms.
He also encouraged greater business-to-business linkages and investment in key sectors, highlighting connectivity as central to regional economic integration. Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Trans-Afghan Railway Project and expressed his commitment to peace and stability in the region.
Tukhtaev thanked Zardari for the warm reception and reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s dedication to strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan. He also praised Pakistan’s role in promoting regional integration and economic linkages, as well as its leadership in advancing peace globally.
