Gunshots rang out at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, prompting security staff to rush the former president off-stage.

While delivering a speech, Trump appeared to fall to the ground. Armed security immediately surrounded him, and he remained on the ground for about a minute.

Rising to his feet, Trump pumped his fist in the air before being escorted off stage and into a waiting vehicle, which then sped away from the scene.

Video footage seemed to show blood on his ear as he was led away, with Trump clutching the side of his head as he fell. Two people were killed during the event, according to initial reports.

“Everyone join me in praying for our President Trump and everyone at that rally. I hope everyone is ok,” posted Republican Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio on the X social media platform.

The crowd erupted in screams as the chaotic scene unfolded.

President Joe Biden, currently in Delaware for the weekend, has been briefed on the situation, according to a senior White House official.
