On a warm evening in Lahore on February 9, 2026, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) orchestrated a successful team auction for the Multan franchise, marking the commencement of what promises to be an unprecedented HBL Pakistan Super League season.

The auction proceedings began with remarks from Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi, who welcomed everyone present and highlighted how the HBL PSL embarks on its eleventh season. CEO Salman Naseer of the HBL Pakistan Super League (HPSL) then provided insights into the league’s journey and its imminent expansion, underscoring the new era it is entering.

There were five technically robust bidders vying for the coveted Multan franchise: Walee Technologies, Aim Next, Particle Igniter, CD Ventures, and DSM. The auction opened with a base price of PKR 182 crore, setting the stage for intense competition among the participants. A single round of bidding saw Walee Technologies emerging victorious under CEO Ahsan Tahir’s leadership, securing the Multan franchise with a staggering bid amount of PKR 245 crore – surpassing the record set in the previous auction.

Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman PCB, expressed his congratulations to Walee Technologies and commended their acquisition for setting a new benchmark. He highlighted the league’s fair and transparent process, emphasizing that it had elevated the stature of the HBL PSL manifold over its decade-long journey. “The evident trust from various stakeholders,” he emphasized, “will undoubtedly fuel further growth.”

Naseer, CEO HPSL, welcomed Walee Technologies to the fold, noting it represented a significant commercial and financial milestone for the league. He underscored how this transaction marked a pivotal moment in the HBL PSL’s progression into its New Era.

Ahsan Tahir, CEO of Walee Technologies, echoed Naseer’s sentiments, expressing delight at joining the HPSL family. “We are thrilled to be contributing to Pakistan Cricket’s growth,” he said, adding a heartfelt thanks for Naqvi and HPSL’s seamless conduct of the auction. He spoke optimistically about the future ahead, envisioning exciting developments that would captivate fans with their innovations.
